Help us carry out our mission and honor the people making our work possible

It’s the end of the academic year . . . and we want to celebrate and THANK YOU!

We all have a story about how we got where we are today. We at the Ruvvy Resilience Lab are proud to be part of the academic and scientific journeys of everyone who comes through our lab and affiliated classrooms. I (Dr. Ruvvy) would like to shout-out the students in my Research Methods class this past semester and congratulate them all on tremendous positive efforts in the classroom. We would also all like to congratulate our friends and colleagues Luis Garcia-Lopez and Ava Bliaya on their graduates!

As you may know from our last newsletter, Luis recently graduated from undergrad at Wayne State; Ava—who has been working with us to produce social media content for the past semester has recently graduated from high school. We are fortunate to have Luis continue volunteering with us as he completes his research study and prepares his applications for graduate school. We will miss Ava and wish her all the best as she celebrates her graduation and transitions to college at Arizona State University.

Please join us in congratulating Luis, Ava, and all the graduates in our community!

🎓 Big congrats to Luis on earning his degree from Wayne State! Excited to see what’s next!

🎓 Big congrats to Ava on graduating high school! Wishing you the best at Arizona State!

Help us make new breakthroughs and inspire the next generation of neuroscientists!

We could use your help to make our research on brain development, resilience, and creative arts and movement-based interventions happen. Scientific research is typically funded by research grants from federal entities (like the NIH), private foundations, universities (like Wayne State), and individual donors. In this tumultuous time for research, we are pursuing every creative option to support our work. We’ve also added new initiatives, including a Community Advisory Board, and we continue to expand our outreach efforts through YouTube, Instagram, our podcast, and our forthcoming TikTok. We at the Ruvvy Resilience Lab want to make science accessible for EVERYONE and inspire the next generation of scientists.

Will you help us thank and support the people who make this work happen?

You’ve recently met a number of our team members, the majority of whom are volunteering with the lab. All donations to our Buy Me a Coffee page will be split amongst our unpaid volunteers and Community Advisory Board members, to thank them for their time and effort making research happen, sharing information with all of you, and helping us to build an equitable and inspiring community-engaged lab.
